Beginner 1.1 Landing Safely

Beginner 1.1 is the perfect first canopy course for all experience levels. Whether you’re looking to work on consistent stand up landings or you want to get a little more comfortable flying your parachute, this is a great step towards sharpening up those essential flying skills. Explore the range of your canopy, gain an in-depth knowledge of flight controls, and experiment with stalls and slow flight. Fly safe, predictable patterns and practice the techniques behind soft, accurate landings. Gain the confidence to fly your wing safely from opening, right to the end of the flare. Come and learn to fly safer with us.

Beginner 1.2 Active Piloting

Our Active Piloting canopy course teaches you to be a pilot, not a passenger. Experience every control input your canopy has to offer, and learn to fly where you want to go in a range of wind conditions. Try out precision turns and start playing with front risers up high to fully understand the speed your wing is capable of. Gain the tools to deal with difficult situations. We’ll even have you trying out some crosswind landings! Learn how to use your body position to control the canopy and keep you safer at the same time. Improve your flying more than you thought possible. You will leave a more capable and much more assertive canopy pilot. Fly with newfound confidence.

Intermediate 2.1 Defensive Piloting

We do defensive driving courses to become safer and better drivers. Our Defensive Piloting canopy course will help you become a safer and better pilot. Have you ever dealt with a brake-fire? Line twists? An aircraft emergency? An off-landing? A downwind landing? Toggle broken on you at 1000ft? Maybe you’ve dislocated a shoulder in freefell and had to flare with one hand? The chances are you haven’t had to do any of those things…yet. But thousands of skydivers have, and may have been unprepared. Make sure you are ready for every emergency situation that comes your way. Learn to fly like a survivor.

Intermediate 2.2 Flying Faster

Our Intermediate 2.2 canopy course is designed to help pilots safely build airspeed while developing techniques to save their ass. Break through barriers in your flying while getting the very best advice on how to stay safe. Learn slow speed approach skills and how to arrest a dive. Progress onto safely using double front risers and emergency rear riser landings. Don’t waste precious time tryna figure it all out the hard way. That usually leads to a bruised ego and an even more bruised body. Instead, let our highly qualified team of coaches take you there. It’s time to learn how to fly faster…and safer.

For pilots who want to:

  • Learn the theory of a high performance approach
  • Learn the fundamentals of swooping
  • Know how to save their ass on toggles
  • Practice a rear riser emergency landing
  • Practice front riser turns up high
  • Learn toggle-to-rear riser transfers up high
  • Slowly and carefully start double front approaches

Advanced 3.1 Learning to Swoop

Can you teach me to swoop? Umm…yeh! Our Advanced 3.1 canopy course is for pilots already experimenting with high performance landings, and those who haven’t tried. We introduce you to increased acceleration and performance within a controlled environment. Safely build up extra speed near the ground with double fronts, and begin 90-degree turns. Study the four phases of a swoop and practice techniques employed by most competition pilots. Two days of intense learning from highly experienced coaches who have already made all the mistakes in the book. Unlock speed and power. Fly faster.

Advanced 3.2 Getting the Gates

Looking to progress onto hitting gates and flying clean lines? Our Advanced 3.2 canopy course will help you smash through any boundaries that have held up your swooping. This is for experienced pilots who want to take their high performance turns and landings to the next level, and isn’t for the faint of heart. Optimize your performance, power and precision. With a day of non-stop coaching and guidance your skills will improve massively, allowing you to enjoy every swoop. Now you can learn to fly through courses like a boss.

For pilots who want to:

  • Progress to 270-degree or more turns
  • Start doing bigger rotations
  • Increase their swoop accuracy
  • Learn about courses and lanes
  • Safely hit gates
  • Radically improve their swoop performance

Suggestions: Advanced 3.1, already doing 90-degree or 270-degree turns

CRW Basics

Our CRW Basics canopy course is an introduction to Canopy Relative Work for pilots of any skill level who want to learn the fundamentals of flying with others.

Learn about equipment requirements, in-air skills and emergency procedures for wraps and entanglements on the ground before taking to the skies. We teach you to fly safely in proximity to other canopies. You’ll start by working on your hop ‘n’ pop exits, mastering the use of all your control inputs and learning to dock on a stack formation in a controlled manner. Then you'll move on to transitions from stack to plane, taking grips, and even begin piloting formations.

By the end of the weekend you will be flying safely with a friend and docking third or later in larger formations. Sign up and learn to fly nice with others!

  • A hook knife

Speedflying Basics

Go from a complete newb to king or queen of the hill in just four days! Our Speedflying Basics camp teaches you the fundamentals of one of the most extreme and exhilarating non-motorized sports you will ever experience.

On Day 1 you’ll explore the gear and get familiar with a range of different wings, do lots of ground handling and learn the art of the forward launch. Day 2 you’ll keep practicing the launch sequence and run ups, then transition into mini-flights from the base of the hill. Day 3 you’ll slowly move up the lower training hill and begin to increase your flying time. Day 4 you’ll start on the Beginner hill and be guided up to the Intermediate hill once you have the confidence to fly unassisted.

By the end you’ll be flying some smooth lines in in the legendary Lake Isabella terrain with style and confidence. Top it all off with sweet digs, some great company and dinner around the campfire every night – the ultimate Speedflying long weekend. This is one for the adventurers.

Prerequisite: No experience required

Suggestions: Skydiving or Paragliding experience is a bonus!
